What the Gospel Means to Me
Salvation is for all nations, every culture and race. For the affluent and the insignificant— anyone who trusts in the Lord Jesus Christ. He has the power to forgive sins.
He humbled himself by being born as a baby in abject circumstances. He went from a throne in heaven to being completely dependent on others for his human needs. He lived a perfect, sinless life and performed miracles of love, healing and liberation. He abhorred sin, yet loved sinners.
He humbled himself again by sacrificing his life for us. He suffered a painful death and was crucified on a cross to pay off the debts that we owed for breaking God’s law. But he did not remain dead. God the Father raised him again three days after being buried and we have the Holy Spirit because of it.
He has returned to his throne and is preparing a beautiful retirement for his people. Heaven will be the end of all suffering and evil and we will live there forever. The gospel is the reason that believers are baptized and it’s the reason that we share this good news with others.
