“You’re My Honey” Mustard
This is for the good folks out there who love sweet & tangy salad dressing. It's Southern Belle chic & delicious because of the buttery, caramelized onion...shhh, that's my secret.
“You’re My Honey” Mustard-
Makes 1 & 1/2 Cups
- 1/2 small white onion, diced
- 1 T butter or oil (butter may curd if you store it for a while)
- 3 T grainy mustard
- 3 T honey
- 1 T light brown sugar
- 1/2 C raw apple cider vinegar
- 1 C extra virgin olive oil
- salt to taste
On medium heat, in a small pan, caramelize the onion in butter, really cook it down, salt lightly. Add the onion and the rest of the ingredients into your food processor and let it run until it's smooth and creamy!
Note- You may warm this dressing, in a small pan, on low heat, if you are serving it with something other than salad.
Refrigerate for up to 3 weeks. Stir and let sit out for a few to soften.
